Details about all Fond du Lac Public Library events are found at the Calendar. All programs are free. Most do not require registration. Children under age 8 must have an adult with them at all times.

Programs for kids:

  • Storytimes:
    • Evening Storytime: 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays. All ages. A fun, 30-minute romp with lots of songs, engaging books and more.
    • Toddler Storytime: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Ages 2 and younger. Twenty minutes of Storytime followed by 20 minutes of play.
    • Preschool Storytime: 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Ages 3-5. Thirty minutes of fun books, songs and more.
  • Half-Day Party: 1-3:30 p.m. Friday, October 5. For kids in grades K-8 and their families. Half day at school? Hang out with us. Play bingo and watch the 1961 Disney classic “101 Dalmations.” With snacks. No registration.
  • Costume Swap: Saturday, October 6. Find free, gently used costumes for kids and teens.
    • 10-11 a.m.: Did you drop off a costume for the swap in September? Come during the early bird first hour to redeem your voucher and pick out a costume.
    • 11 a.m.-noon: Everyone invited to pick out costumes, no donation or registration required.
  • Family Lego Night: 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 11. All ages. Drop in to play with regular Legos and Duplos for younger siblings. No registration.
  • Egg Drop Challenge: 1-2:30 p.m. Friday, October 19. For kids in grade school and their families. Create a parachute apparatus that will protect a raw egg, then drop-test it out outside. A partner program with FDL Public Works. October 19 is a day off for area schoolkids. No registration.
  • Halloween Storytime: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 27. All ages. Get in the mood for the Downtown Monster March with a fun, interactive Halloween Storytime at the library. Come in costume, and come ready for dancing.
  • Gross Science: 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 31. Get your hands dirty and gooey by learning about the inner workings of our digestive system. Registration is required and begins at 9 a.m. Monday, October 22, online at the Calendar, in person at the Children’s Desk or by calling (920) 322-3940.
