Get creative this February in the Idea Studio at the FDL Public Library
Feeling creative? Make something special during February’s Let’s Make events in the Idea Studio at the Fond du Lac Public Library.
On Monday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m., get badged on the Idea Studio’s Sublimation Printer and Heat Press, and make an air freshener to take home. Participants must be age 13 or older to join. Register starting Jan. 29 at calendar.fdlpl.org.
Then, on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m., get badged on the Idea Studio’s Prusa i3 MK3S printers and make charms to take home. The Idea Studio also will provide chain links and other jewelry accessories. To participate, register starting Feb. 13 at calendar.fdlpl.org.
The public also is invited to join the Press Club (for Printmakers) on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. in the Idea Studio. See informal demonstrations and learn different printing techniques to try for free. This month, learn how to blind emboss on paper. This is a technique that adds texture to paper without involving ink or foil. No experience or registration required for this free event, but participants younger than age 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Group badging opportunities also are available at the Idea Studio. Check calendar.fdlpl.org for sessions as they become available.
The Idea Studio is open for walk-in visits Monday through Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.
